Our skills learnt on ancient monuments have readily adapted to ecclesiastical work and we are proud of our extensive portfolio of church work.
HPR have experience in the conservation, restoration, general refurbishment and specialist maintenance of churches. Our most recent ecclesiastical work has taken us to sites such as The Cathedral Church of St Nicholas in Newcastle and Holy Trinity Church in Sunderland.
We are happy to undertake all manner of repairs including stonework, roofing, leadwork, intricate joinery works and stained and leaded glass. We have also completed a number of extensions to churches, the emphasis being to create something new which is sensitive to the old.
In addition to the church buildings, we have undertaken repairs to tombs, monuments and gravestones, railings, and paths to church grounds and cemeteries.
Church work brings with it additional requirements. Scaffolding often has to be specially designed to protect roofs, the congregation or important interiors and often the work has to be programmed to continue around the normal church functions.
The sensitive nature of many Ecclesiastical projects means that contractors must adhere to the highest level of professionalism when on site. At HPR, we have worked closely with industry experts in the fields of archaeology and architecture, to ensure the proper handling of sacred grounds. This has given us the experience and confidence that we can deliver the upmost quality on a wide range of Ecclesiastical projects.
