Tyler AOTY

At HPR, we welcome applications for apprenticeships in a variety of heritage trades. Training and developing the right skill set is one of the most effective ways to develop the quality craftsmen that are the core to our success. Several of our team started out as apprentices and have progressed through our company to reach management levels and beyond. We pride ourselves on producing the highest quality of work; and the training and development of apprentices is one method that allows us to sustain this philosophy.

Apprentices are required to achieve NVQ level 3 in stonemasonry as well as receiving internal training and accreditation in specialist conservation techniques such as plaster consolidation and detailed stone dentistry techniques. Applications for apprenticeships in stonemasonry are invited in May/June each year, with a view to a September start date for the 3 year apprenticeship programme. Many years of subsequent training and experience is provided to allow those with expert skills to eventually become master craftsmen. We have over 20 years of experience in delivering high quality apprenticeships.

Apprentices in joinery are required to achieve NVQ level 3 whilst working alongside our time served joiners and via day release study at a local Technical College.

Heritage Skills

The NVQ Level 3 qualification in Heritage Skills is achieved via site assessment, and by providing site based evidence. The assessor attends site at regular intervals to review your development and continued support to help you achieve the required evidence and workmanship standards is provided by our team of stonemasons and Site Managers.
